Repository checkout and Git LFS downloads are now faster
UpdateyesterdayUnverifiedAdded Oct 14, 2026
Repository checkout and Git LFS downloads are now faster on Vercel, reducing the time spent preparing your project's files before a build. During rollout on build machines with more than two vCPUs: The average time to get project files ready fell by 20%.

More Vercel platform releases
Every Vercel platform releaseNew Pro teams now default to 30-day deployment retention
New Pro teams now default to a 30-day deployment retention period. Coding agents have accelerated development, increasing deployment frequency and the amount of stored deployment history. Shorter retention keeps recent history available while limiting older history and its storage costs.
Deployment Storage billing begins for existing Pro teams
Deployment Storage and Functions Storage billing will begin for all Pro teams at $0.10 per GB-month. Check your email for details about when billing will start for your team. To keep storage costs low, the deployment retention window also changes to 30 days.
Skip sending request bodies to Routing Middleware
You can now skip sending client request bodies to Routing Middleware with skipMiddlewareRequestBody . This reduces incoming Fast Origin Transfer usage for middleware invocations and can improve time to first byte, especially for requests with large bodies. Enable this option only if your Routing Middleware doesn’t read request bodies.
Microfrontends Routing is now free for Firewall-mitigated traffic
Microfrontends Routing is now free for requests that the Web Application Firewall (WAF) denies, challenges, or rate limits. CDN Requests and Fast Data Transfer are already free for this traffic. The change applies automatically to every project using microfrontends. Learn how to set up WAF rules in the Firewall documentation. Read more
Timestamp attributes are now supported in Vercel Flags
Vercel Flags now supports timestamp attributes, so you can target entities by date and time. Use timestamp attributes to show a campaign page only between two dates, run a Black Friday promotion, or target users who registered before a cutoff. Configure a timestamp attribute You can configure timestamp attributes in the dashboard or via the CLI.
Speed Insights deprecates First Input Delay on November 1st
Speed Insights is deprecating First Input Delay (FID) and will stop recording new measurements on November 1st. Speed Insights already uses Interaction to Next Paint (INP) , the Core Web Vital that replaced FID, as the responsiveness metric in your Real Experience Score .
Edge Requests are now called CDN Requests
CDN Requests is now the name for the usage metric previously called Edge Requests. This is a naming change only: pricing, limits, and how usage is measured are all unchanged. The new name appears on the usage dashboard, the Observability Events chart, usage notifications, and invoice line items. It reflects that these are requests served by Vercel's CDN.
Vercel CDN no longer caches responses with Vary: Cookie
Vercel CDN no longer caches origin responses when Vary includes Cookie . Vary tells a cache which request headers may change the response. Because cookies often contain visitor-specific values, varying by Cookie can create many cache entries that are rarely reused. The response is still served normally but isn't stored for future requests.

- Three training methods: Supervised fine-tuning (SFT) , direct preference optimization (DPO) , and reinforcement learning with group relative policy optimization (GRPO) . Each method trains a low-rank adapter (LoRA) or the full model weights. Custom loss functions : Train with any objective you compute in PyTorch from the model's log-probabilities.

The AI.AGG function is generally available (GA). You can use this function to semantically aggregate unstructured input data based on natural language instructions.
BigQuery generative AI functions now support the gemini-4-argon model
BigQuery generative AI functions now support the gemini-4-argon model. This model is generally available .
Gemini 4 Argon in CodeMender (Preview)
CodeMender now supports Gemini 4 Argon. To use it, pass --model gemini-4-argon to cm find , cm verify , or cm fix . Gemini 3.8 Flash remains the default model. For more information, see Specifying the model .
Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 4 Argon Cyber Permissive
Gemini 4 Argon ( gemini-4-argon ) is available in General Availability (GA) . Gemini 4 Argon is Google's frontier model that excels at deep work in complex, real-world tasks across domains including coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity, and science.
On-demand state repartitioning is now generally available
On-demand state repartitioning is now generally available. You can resize the number of shuffle partitions for a stateful Structured Streaming query or Lakeflow pipeline without losing checkpoint state. See On-demand state repartitioning for stateful streaming queries .
