File upload in Genie One and Genie Agents is now generally available, so workspace admins no longer need to turn on a preview. Upload files to a conversation and analyze them in natural language alongside your other data. For supported file types and limits, see Upload a file and Upload a file to a Genie Agent .

The agentic code converter is now generally available for the SQL target framework. Powered by Genie Code, it converts SQL from dialects such as T-SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, BigQuery, and Teradata into Databricks SQL queries.

Starting in November 2026, Genie Code tasks in Lakeflow Jobs are available by default for workspaces with the compliance security profile enabled. A Genie Code task runs your prompt autonomously as part of a job. It can read upstream task outputs and call tools as needed, and it returns a link to the resulting Genie Code chat with its response.
