Genie Code tasks in Lakeflow Jobs are now generally available. A Genie Code task runs your prompt autonomously as part of a job. It can read upstream task outputs and call tools as needed, and it returns a link to the resulting Genie Code chat with its response. See Genie Code task for jobs .

Starting in November 2026, Genie Code tasks in Lakeflow Jobs are available by default for workspaces with the compliance security profile enabled. A Genie Code task runs your prompt autonomously as part of a job. It can read upstream task outputs and call tools as needed, and it returns a link to the resulting Genie Code chat with its response.
Delegate access to Genie budgets
Budgets used to manage Genie costs now support access control lists (ACLs). Account admins and workspace admins can grant the Budget Manager or Budget Viewer role to specific users, groups, or Databricks service principals, delegating who can view and manage each budget. The agentic code converter is generally available for SQL conversion
The agentic code converter is now generally available for the SQL target framework. Powered by Genie Code, it converts SQL from dialects such as T-SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, BigQuery, and Teradata into Databricks SQL queries.
Code execution in Genie One (Public Preview)
Genie One can now run code in a secure, isolated sandbox to take on work that goes beyond SQL, such as more advanced analyses. Code runs on your behalf using your existing permissions, so Unity Catalog governance and data access controls continue to apply. See Code execution in Genie One .
